Demetriosaus Sidon ein guter und wohlwollender Manngegenüber dem Volk der Athener ist, wolle beschließen das Volk:dass man belobige Apollonides S.d. Demetrios aus Sidonund ihn bekränze mit goldenem Kranz imWert von eintausend Drachmen wegen seiner Leistung und seines Wohlwollensgegenüber dem Volk der Athener, und dass erProxenos und Wohltäter des Volkes der Athenersei, er selbst und die Nachkommen; dass ihm auch das Recht sei zum Erwerbvon Grund und Haus nach dem Gesetz; dassdiesen Beschluss aufzeichne der Sekretär des Ratesauf eine steinerne Stele und aufstelle auf der Akropolis;dass für die Aufzeichnung auf die Stele der Schatzmeisterdes Volkes 20 Drachmen gebe aus demDekret-Fonds des Volkes.
- - -- - - of the presiding committeeEpameinon [of Erchia?] was putting to the vote. -les (?) son of -of Anagyrous proposed: since the merchants and theshippers declare that Apollonides son of Demetriosof Sidon is a good man and welldisposed towards the Athenian People, the People shall decide:to praise Apollonides son of Demetrios of Sidonand crown him with a gold crown ofa thousand drachmas for his excellence and good willtowards the Athenian People, and he shall beproxenos and benefactor of the Athenian People,himself and his descendants; and he shall have right of ownership of landand a house according to the law; and the secretaryof the Council shall inscribe this decreeon a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis;and for inscribing the stele the treasurerof the People shall give 20 drachmas from thePeople’s fund for expenditure on decrees.
